Actually, it is hard to say which one is the Best Action Games For PC because there is so many action games and different flavors. So I will choose for me the Best Action Games For PC and present it to you.

But first what is an Action Game ?
Action Game is a video game genre in which it is important to have a good physical challenges, including hand to eye coördination and of course a good reaction-time. The genre includes different sub-genres such as shooter games, fighting games, and platform games, which are often considered as the most important action games and some real-time strategy games are also considered to be action games.

The action game genre is probably the most popular one and therefore I will present some of the Best Action Games For PC.

Like I said Action Game is a video game genre in which it is important to have a good physical challenges, including hand to eye coördination and of course a good reaction-time. All that started in year 1978 with a game called Space Invaders which is now an iconic example from the action genre. Since Space Invaders the action game genre dominated in-game industry. Then in year 1993 Doom was released. Doom was one of the earliest first-person shooters and the most popular for that time.

From then until now it has changed a lot especially in graphics and gameplay. Now graphics are very close to reality and for example we can take Crysis 2, which runs on CryEngine 3 and is for now one of the best game engines.

1. BioShock Infinite is a first person shooter game which was developed by Irrational Games and published by 2K Games. BioShock Infinite is the third game from the BioShock series.

BioShock Infinite is set in 1912 during the development of American exceptionalism. Main character Booker Dewitt is shipped to the floating city of Columbia to find Elizabeth, who has been kept captive. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, both get involved with the city’s warring factions: the nativist and élite Founders. During this conflict, Booker finds out that Elizabeth possesses powers to control rifts in the space-time continuum that ravage Columbia, and discovers her being the key to the city’s secrets.

My opinion:
I am speechless. BioShock Infinite is without doubt one of the best action games for PC ever made. Gameplay combined with a rich story is simply awesome. The air city Columbia is amazing to be explored. Visuals and graphics are gorgeous. I also loved working together with Elizabeth. And at the end everybody will remember the mind-blowing ending.

2. Batman: Arkham City is an action-adventure game which was developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

Batman: Arkham City is the best rated action game on gamespot.com. Game is played with Batman in a city called Gotham City. This crime infested metropolis has been first imagined in comic books (Spring 1940, The Joker), then in cartoons and in films. And now with this video game we get a new vision of Gotham city with one of the most exciting and richly detailed environments that were ever seen in a PC game.

My opinion:
I loved Batman as a character since I was a child and so I liked the game in advance. And my expectations were fulfilled in first few minutes of playing, when I realized that the game is excellent. Gameplay is awesome with a great map which is like I said the most exciting and richly detailed environment that were ever seen in a PC game. Graphics are also awesome and I couldn’t find any bad things in this game, this is also why Batman: Arkham City is one of the Best Action Games For PC ever made.

3. Far Cry 3 is a first-person shooter action game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. Far Cry 3 is the third game from the Far Cry series.

Far Cry 3 campaign is set on a few tropical islands in the Pacific Ocean. Jason Brody (player character) and his friends are on vacation on this tropical islands when all things go wrong. His friends were kidnapped and now Jason has to save them. In campaign he meets many challenges before he can rescue his friends and then escape from this islands.

My opinion:
Once again Far Cry 3 has awesome in-game graphics and physics. Playing a game with such graphics and physics is a real joy. You can also enjoy in a huge world with a great campaign that has a lot of options what to do. I also love animals and challenging animal fights. This game is as the previous two parts awesome and I almost couldn’t find any errors that’s why I think this game is also one of the Best Action Games For PC.

4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is for me one of the Best Action Games For PC. I especially like the multiplayer mode in all Call of Duty games. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a first-person shooter video game and is the eighth game from the Call of Duty series.

Story of the game is going on in the future (year 2016) and is continuing from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The game is also interesting because you play in true cities such as London and New York. You need to try this game and play online with your friends in multiplayer mode because its one of the Best Action Games.

My opinion:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is for me the most popular action game. I like the campaign, which continues from previous two parts. I also like the graphics and gameplay that is typical for Call of Duty games. Multiplayer mode is again excellent. After the campaign, you can enjoy the excellent Spec Ops mode. That are the reasons why is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for me the Best Action Games For PC.

5. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a Sci Fi action role-playing game developed by Eidos and published by Square Enix. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the third game from the Deus Ex series.

The game is played in 2027 when multinationals have developed their businesses beyond the control of governments. The game is played with Adam Jensen who was mortally wounded by an industrial terrorist sabotage. He is forced to undergo radical life-saving surgeries. On returning he starts the search for those responsible for the attack.

My opinion:
In Deus Ex: Human Revolution I love the story that offers many possibilities. Otherwise, I’m not the biggest fan of science fiction action games, but this game drags you into the story and you can only enjoy the exciting game. For this game I can say that is one of the Best Action Games For PC

6. Battlefield 3 also called BF3 is a first person shooter game which was developed by EA DICE and published by EA. Battlefield 3 is the eleventh game from the Battlefield series and is one of the most popular action and multiplayer games.

In campaign, players are playing the personas of several military roles; a F-18 officer, a USMC recon Marine, an M1A2 Abrams operator, and a SPETSNAZ operative. The campaign is taking you in places at various locations, from France(Paris) to New York and Iran, and follows the story of Sergeant Blackburn and Dimitri Mayakovsky. Battlefield 3 is perfect for online play.

My opinion:
Battlefield 3 has in this part for the first time also single player campaign, which is understandably not as good as, Call of Duty campaign. But when it comes to multiplayer mode, is Battlefield 3 currently unbeatable game, and that is why it is selected among the Best Action Games For PC. Multiplayer mode offers a seamless experience that draws players into the game where they get the feeling like they are actually on the battlefield. The game offers four different choices of classes and on the Battlefield you can choose between many vehicles and aircraft. Game has also an awesome graphic, special effects, really great gameplay and many more good things I didn’t notice.

7. Borderlands 2 is a space first person shooter action game which was published by 2K Games, Valve Corporation and developed by Gearbox Software. Borderlands 2 is the second game from the Borderlands series.

The campaign is played with four characters also known as Vault Hunters (They are: Brick , Roland, Mordecai, and Lilith). The main mission is to free Pandora from Handsome Jack who is the CEO of the Hyperion corporation. That will be done with fighting through whole Pandora to stop this evil Jack from awakening the Warrior who is an alien evil from ancient times.

My opinion:
In fact, this game has not changed much from its predecessor especially in graphics and gameplay. But its a lot more fun because of hilarious characters any many action. I really like the graphics because they look like old school games or like an animated movie. Here are also tons of areas to explore and many of weapons to use. Maybe sometimes there are to many messages so they interrupt with each other. But generally speaking, this game is definitely one of the Best Action games for PC.

8. Dishonored is a first-person action game which was published by Bethesda Softworks and developed by Arkane Studios. Dishonored is the first game from this series.

The campaign is played in a fictional city called Dunwall (made after the 19th century London). You play as Corvo Attano who is a bodyguard for the Empress. After her murder you are framed for it and been hunted. You decide to seek revenge and you became an assassin who will hunt down all who conspired on you/him.

My opinion:
Dishonored has an outstanding gameplay with an awesome story and campaign. The environment is amazing and it’s really fun discovering and jumping or teleporting from one place to another. Another great things are the special powers that give to the game and the story another great touch. Game is perfectly made, that is why this game is one of the Best Action Games for PC.

9. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is a historical action adventure game in the Assassin’s Creed series developed by Ubisoft and also published by Ubisoft. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is the sixth game from the Assassin’s Creed series and is for me one of the Best Action Games based on the story and gameplay.

This game has some exceptional sequels where you play different characters. Among them are the main character Connor and then in the Animus Edward Kenway. The game takes place during the Golden Age of Piracy in early 18th century in the Caribbean sea and islands (Havana, Kingston, Nassau and Bahamas). As in all previous games we need to find all Templars and assassinate them. The attractive story and a lot of new challenges, makes this game one of the Best.

My opinion:
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is for me one of the best action games ever made. I love all parts of a story that continues from the first Assassin’s Creed game. Places where the game is played are excellent and its a real pleasure to trample on the roofs, trees, cliffs and explore the city and landscape. I am glad that each new Assassin’s Creed has something new which makes the game even more special. And because this game is my favorite I can say that Assassins Creed is one of the Best Action Games for PC.

10. Max Payne 3 is a third person action game which was published and developed by Rockstar. Max Payne 3 is the third game from the Max Payne series.

The story of Max Payne 3 continues eight years after the events from Max Payne 2. Max, who lives in São Paulo, Brazil, becomes in the meantime addicted to alcohol and painkillers. He becomes addicted, because he tries to forget things that have happened in his past and they haunt him in the present. She now works as a private security guard at the real-estate mogul Branco, where Brancos wife is kidnapped. Max as a security guard is forced to enter the battle with kidnappers.

My opinion:
I played the second part of the Max Payne series and I was extremely pleased with it. But Max Payne 3 has exceeded all expectations because the game is excellent. This is because the game has a great story and great gameplay. The graphics are excellent as the details and of course great sound with great sound effects. By playing this game I was very amused because it really is exceptional and that is why Max Payne 3 is one of the Best Action Games For PC.

11. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is a first person shooter game which was developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the ninth game from the Call of Duty series.

Story of the game is going on in the future (year 2025) and is continuing from Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game is also interesting because you play in true cities such as Los Angeles, Beijing. Hong Kong, Shanghai and many more. In campaign you will fight against HiTec hijacked US machines that were captured or overtaken by the enemy. You need to try this game and play online with your friends in multiplayer mode because its one of the Best Action Games.

My opinion:
Once again developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops II made this game outstanding. First I must say that I don’t like game that are played in the future but this one has an awesome campaign. You can choose between many weapons and upgrades. Gameplay is awesome. You have to make many choices. And the multiplayer is once again perfect. Especially the new league play is great ! Because I think this is the best first person shooting game I can say that is also one of the Best Action Games For PC.

12. Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a action stealth game published by Ubisoft and developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the sixth game from the Splinter Cell series.

The game starts with an ambush on an Airforce Base in Guam where was also Sam Fisher. After the attack a terrorist organization called The Engineers, claimed responsibility. They announced a deadly countdown of attacks on the US called The Blacklist. Then the president of the US assigns Sam Fisher as a commander of a team that will bring down The Engineers. With a freedom to do whatever, Sam and his team start to hunt down the terrorists.

My opinion:
Splinter Cell: Blacklist has a great story combining stealth and action. In every mission you have to decide if you would like some action and blow away the enemy or if you should stay in the dark and silently kill them (this will bring you more money). Cooperative missions are also cool and interesting as the multiplayer mode. Places are well made and a joy to discover. And my favorite is the game menu which is your plane called Paladin. Each part of the plane presents a part of the menu (weapons, upgrades, missions, etc,…)

13. Metro: Redux is a first person shooter game which was developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver. Metro: Redux is the Third game from the Metro series.

Metro: Redux takes place one in year 2034 and one year after the events of Metro 2033. Most of the story is happening in Moscow underground where are all the remnants of mankind surrounded with danger from outside as from inside the tunnels (Metro). A civil war starts because of a doomsday device which will bring the ultimate power to the owner. Now you as Artyom hold the key to the survival of the human race.

My opinion:
This game is definitely not for claustrophobic players because fights in the dark tunnels are sometimes really scary, as the discovering of the surface. Graphics and visual effect are nothing special. The enemy AI is also not impressive. But after all Metro: Redux is a really great action game especially for horror freaks.

Watch Dogs is a third-person game that takes place in the city of Chicago. The map is huge and can be fully explored from the beginning. I the game, player take control of a hacker named Aiden Pearce. He is a Chicago vigilante who hacks and completes missions to take down people who are responsible for the car accident in which his niece died.

My opinion:
Watch Dogs has an awesome and huge open world. It’s great that you can explore the full map from the beginning with no restrictions. Hacking from mission to mission is just another great feature to this game. The only bad site to the game are car chases. It’s great that you can hack when driving, but you can’t shoot from the car. However, it can be said that the Watch Dogs is one of the Best Action Games For PC.

15. Crysis 3 is a first-person shooter game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. Crysis 3 is the third and a half game from the Crysis series. Third and a half is because there was an expansion Crysis Warhead.

The story starts with Prophets returning to New York City. He wants to battle the evil alien Ceph and the corrupt Cell Corporation. Prophet becomes a hunter with a high-tech equipment such as his upgraded Nanosuit, silent and light composite bow and with that he hunts down and destroys all aliens and the Cell Corporation.

My opinion:
Crysis 3 is a very good game that has excellent graphics, special effects and gameplay. The graphics and environment are really amazing. Maybe at the beginning of the game its a bit boring but this will soon change with great battles. New nanosuit offers many opportunities to improvements which makes the game more interesting. According to graphics in the game and environment I can certainly say that Crysis 3 is one of the Best Action Games For PC.
